We are students and adults with a shared goal of improving mental health, connection and empowerment.

SPARK (Supporting Positive Actions for Resilience & Knowledge) aims to prevent and reduce substance misuse and promote positive mental health among Central Berkshire middle and high school-aged youth. Guided by insights from Youth Advisory Boards, SPARK encourages young people to lead positive changes in their lives and community.

Youth Advisory Boards (YABs) are student-led groups that elevate youth voices, build leadership skills, and promote civic engagement. Through collaboration with schools and the wider community, the YABs lead projects and events that support substance use prevention, strengthen mental health protective factors, and address local youth community needs. Pittsfield High School and Taconic High School have their own SPARK YABs.

By increasing substance education for youth and adults, promoting mental health support, fostering youth leadership, and building connections, SPARK brings the community together to lift us up and ignite a brighter future for Berkshire County!
